Robots displace us

As stated in the draft report of the European Parliament on robotics, the growing capabilities of artificial intelligence, increasing the level of automation and robotization of production are beginning to create certain legal and ethnic problems that can lead to serious consequences. And we are talking about the next few decades.

The report, in particular, gives some recommendations in the event of an impending industrial revolution. So it is proposed to register robots in the Federal Migration Service, and the laws should specify the responsibility of the machines for causing damage associated with the loss of “live” jobs.

If the most “advanced” robots openly displace their “live” competitors, their owners will have to pay special taxes or contributions to the social insurance system.

It is also proposed to regulate the relationship between people and robots, focusing on human security, protecting his privacy, integrity and respect for human dignity.

In turn, robots should realize themselves as individuals, up to the observance of a special moral code, described in one of the novels by the famous science fiction writer Isaac Asimov. There, in particular, it is said that a robot should not harm a person and must obey his creator.

The authorship of the draft report belongs to the member of the European Parliament from Luxembourg Madi Delvaux. Her proposals are still purely symbolic, since only the European Commission can approve them. Hearings will be held in April in the Committee on Legal Affairs of the European Parliament.
